Just Act Natural: How Photography Can Transform Your Brand

A bank of high-quality, varied photography is one of the most important assets you can have for your brand. Whether you’re a school, Multi Academy Trust, business or local authority, outdated or low-quality photography (or worse, no photography) on your marketing materials could be harming your growth.

Why is Photography Important?

As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words. Powerful imagery of your school or business demonstrates your ethos in action, celebrates your community and showcases your facilities all at once. It’s a snapshot of everything you stand for.

While most of us carry cameras around in our pockets in the form of our mobile phones, nothing matches the composition and quality of professional photography.

What Can Photography Be Used For?

While you might sometimes want a professional to come in and capture photos of a specific event or occasion, generally the most efficient method is to spend a day building a bank of photography covering staged and natural shots, poses and ‘candids’, groups and individuals and a wide range of environments and activities.

Just one day of photography can result in up to 100 high-quality images to suit all marketing requirements. Building up this photography bank gives you a wide range of media for all materials, including:

  • Social media graphics
  • Leaflets/flyers
  • Booklets/prospectuses
  • Interior/exterior signs
  • Banners
  • Websites

What’s the Process?

It can seem daunting to arrange a ‘photo shoot’ for your school or business, particularly if you’re not used to being on camera. Luckily, we’ve got a team of seasoned professionals who make the process as smooth and non-disruptive as possible.

  1. The Plan: We’ll create a detailed plan describing exactly what we’d like to capture and how long it will take. We’ll send you the plan in advance and give you an opportunity to adapt it based on your needs.
  2. The ‘Tour’: We’ll usually plan in a tour of the building, capturing a mix of photography on the way, including facilities and people. Our photographers give friendly direction and can put anyone at ease regardless of how little experience they’ve had in front of the camera.
  3. The Specifics: In addition to a general tour, we’ll make sure to capture people in action, whether they’re working within a business or taking part in a practical lesson in a classroom.
  4. The Edit: In the days after the shoot we’ll edit the photography and send it across to you. We’ll also keep files for the Design Team to use when creating materials.

On all shoots, we make sure that:

  • We cause as little distraction as possible. We can be in and out of a classroom or workspace in 15 minutes with everything we need, with little to no disruption.
  • We work flexibly to work around anything else happening on the day.
  • We build strong rapport with everyone we capture, making them as comfortable as possible to get those lovely natural shots.
